Yo! I am a British actress, working mostly in voiceover - though I've turned up in a couple of on-screen roles, too. Mostly I write from the perspective of gender and sexual minorities (I am transgender and bisexual). Politics is another frequent subject - my politics are slightly to the Left of Alexei Sayle. I am a strong critic of both The Right, Centrism, Capitalism and Neo-Liberalism.
I am not the most positive writer, often dealing as I do with emotive and depressing topics. I see this as necessary sobriety, for unless the shadows of our future are changed I believe the last words of humanity, before we plunge into the abyss, will be "but there's profit to be had!".
As a writer, I try to remember the words of Orwell when he said that if you've heard a phrase before; assume it is a cliché.
I am a member of Equity and I sit as a committee member on the LGBT board. It is my goal and ambition to improve the working lives of queer and trans performers and, where possible, to advocate for transgender and non-binary people within the wider trades union congress. I work to be anti-Racist and to challenge barriers to human equity and happiness. I am a big, big fan of Star Trek and I don't see any reason - if we get our shit together - humans shouldn't be able to live in a similar utopia. There is more than enough for all, if only we would share.
